Poem..
You shouldn’t have taken that step.
The first one felt like any other,
But now the trees are closing in,
The air too thin,
The whispers louder than before.
–
Each crack beneath your feet,
A warning – turn back, retreat.
But something pulls you down this road,
A secret no one should’ve known.
–
A shadow flickers in the trees,
It moves, it watches, unseen eyes,
You try to run, but your feet won’t fly,
The air too thick, the path too sly.
–
It twists, it turns, you can’t escape,
And every breath is laced with fate.
The deeper in, the darker it grows,
A hunter stalking what it knows.
–
Faster now, you feel the chase,
But every step quickens the race.
